Steep hibiscus and ginger
Bring water to a boil. Add hibiscus and ginger, turn off heat, and steep 10 to 15 minutes until deep pink. Strain and discard solids.

Chill the base
Stir in maple syrup while warm, then cool completely. Refrigerate until cold, at least 30 minutes.

Blend and pour
Blend the cold hibiscus with lime juice and ice until frothy and soft. Pour over more ice, garnish with lime or mint if you like.
